In Vietnam, the “Nghê”, a mythical animal that is a cross between a dog and a lion, symbolizes good fortune and spiritual protection. Similar, but smaller, Nghê burners were highlights of the exhibition “Asian Bronze: 4000 Years of Beauty” at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam (September 2024 – January 2025).
