Het centrum van het Khmer-rijk bevond zich ten Noord-Oosten van het centrale hoogland in het huidige Cambodja.
15th/16th Cent. Vietnamese Khmer period gong in bronze with typical green patina The Central Highlands of Vietnam belonged to the Khmer Empire during that period. The center of the Khmer Empire was located northeast of the Central Highlands in present-day Cambodia.
