GERSTL RICHARD (1883 – 1908) (Oostenrijk) olieverfschilderij op doek : “Landschap met fruitbomen” – 39,8 x 49,9 gemonogrammeerd (linksonder) ” RG ” / toegeschreven aan Het originele doek is op de achterkant gemerkt door de firma ‘Kreul’. Volgens de familie ontmoette hun grootvader Gerstl in 1907 in Gmunden, waar hij dit werk rechtstreeks aankocht van Gerstl. Op vraag van de koper heeft de kunstenaar dit werk gemonogrammeerd. prov : sinds 2006 was dit werk verdwenen uit de collectie van de vader van de consignatarissen (hij gaf regelmatig iets weg aan personeelsleden). Het werk kwam onlangs weer boven in een Europese veiling als “unknown”. Daar werd het door de familie opnieuw opgekocht.

According to the family, their grandfather met Gerstl in Gmunden in 1907, where he purchased this work directly from Gerstl. At the request of the buyer, the artist monogrammed this work. Prov : since 2006, this work had disappeared from the collection of the consignees’ father (he regularly gave items away to staff members). The work recently resurfaced at a European auction as “unknown”. There, it was repurchased by the family.
